FileNet Marketing Deal: FileNet Corp. said Monday it has reached a marketing agreement with another company that will allow FileNet’s paper-processing equipment to recognize handwritten characters. Costa Mesa-based FileNet said its document processing systems will be able to recognize printed characters as a result of the deal with New York-based Elsag Bailey, which developed software for character recognition. The machines will be able to process as many as 3,300 handprinted forms an hour.
