Judge Dismisses Lloyd’s Suit: A federal judge dismissed a racketeering lawsuit brought by a group of American investors against the insurer Lloyd’s of London. U.S. District Judge Morris E. Lasker ruled that the suit was precluded by contracts the investors had signed providing for all disputes to be resolved by arbitration in England. The suit was filed in 1991 in Manhattan federal court by American investors claiming that they had suffered severe losses on their Lloyd’s underwriting. An attorney for the investor group, Dale A. Schreiber, did not return phone calls.
