Hold the Award: With the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) threatening to disrupt the evening, “Murphy Brown” creator Diane English has bowed out of accepting the Torch of Liberty Award tonight from the ACLU Foundation of Southern California. IATSE is at odds with English over unsuccessful attempts to organize the company producing her new fall series, “Love and War.” English, who will receive the award at a later date, said her “greatest regret” is that IATSE “has managed to censor” the ACLU event, which raises one-third of the group’s annual operating budget.
