Stocks Drop as Dollar Plunges Against Mark

NEW YORK — Stocks dropped sharply Friday after the dollar hit record lows against the German mark, triggering computer-sell programs.
The Dow Jones industrial average closed down 50.79 points at 3,254.10, according to early, unofficial results.
