Clinton Republicans: Brave or Turncoats?

Excellent column (“Republicans Say She’s a Radical,” Aug. 25). Dianne Klein’s viewpoint fits some of my reasons to become one of the “Orange County Defectors.” Additional reasons I will support Bill Clinton are Bush’s absence of past performance or future focus on solutions to our health care crisis and economic crisis.

I am a devoted mother and wife as well as a full-time public health nurse, and a recently reelected (the highest vote getter in the race even as an incumbent) Dana Point City Council member. I am a Republican supporting Bill Clinton for President because I do want my children and all others to have a future in a strong, economically sound and compassionate U.S.A.
