CHINA’S ONE-CHILD POLICY
However bloated, bratty, spoiled and obnoxious may be the products of China’s excellent one-child-per-family policy (“The Little Emperors,” by Daniela Deane, July 26), they are infinitely more desirable than the teeming slums, numbing poverty, crime, illiteracy, illegitimate births, escalating gang warfare and burgeoning welfare rolls that result from our Spawn All You Want--The Government Will Support Them plan.
What the world needs now is not love but a no-child-per-family policy for a couple of generations. Then when our population diminishes to a level we can (literally) live with, we can gingerly and tentatively follow China’s lead.
