RANCHO SANTA FE : Homicide Attempt Is Reported

A Rancho Santa Fe man was in critical condition Monday at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla after somebody tried to kill him, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.
The Sheriff’s Department received a call from the man’s residence at 9:40 a.m.
“We’re calling it an attempted homicide,” the spokeswoman said.
The man is 77 years old and suffered “major trauma” injuries, hospital officials said.
