General Mills to Buy RJR Nabisco Cereals: General Mills Inc. said it will buy RJR Nabisco Inc.’s ready-to-eat cereal business, which includes the Shredded Wheat brand, for $450 million. The Nabisco cold cereal line also includes Spoon-Size Shredded Wheat and Shreddies. Among General Mills’ cereals are Cheerios, Wheaties, Total, Trix and Cocoa Puffs. The market share of Nabisco’s ready-to-eat cereals, with North American sales of $230 million, has declined in recent years to less than 3% in the United States and 10% in Canada.
