Bill Chandler, spokesman for Mayor Tom Bradley, went on a leave of absence from City Hall Tuesday to serve as press secretary for the U.S. Senate campaign of Democrat Dianne Feinstein.
Chandler, 28, first worked for Bradley in his 1986 campaign for governor, then worked in the office of City Councilman Michael Woo for two years. He has been Bradley’s press secretary since May of 1989.
Chandler will divide his time between Feinstein headquarters in San Francisco and the campaign office in Los Angeles.
Vallee Bunting, the deputy press secretary to the mayor, will serve as acting press secretary while Chandler is on leave.
