Stanford Overpowers Loyola Marymount

The fourth-ranked Stanford women’s volleyball team defeated Loyola Marymount, 15-2, 15-4, 15-13, in the season opener for both teams Wednesday night at Gersten Pavilion.
All-American middle blocker Bev Oden led the Cardinal with 12 kills. Freshman Amy Moeller led the Lions with eight kills.
The Lions travel to Fort Collins, Colo., to play in the Colorado State tournament on Friday and Saturday. Their next home match is Tuesday against Cal State Fullerton.
