Trainer Aiding Storm Victims

After 22 years of taping ankles and treating bruised limbs as athletic trainer at Antelope Valley College, Jerry Lewis is trying to help six Florida families mend their wounds.
Enlisting help from New Hope Community Church and nurses at Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center, Lewis has been gathering clothes, bedding, linens and money to send to Antelope Valley football players’ families caught in Hurricane Andrew.
So far, Lewis said, the response to a flyer he circulated has exceeded his expectations. He can be reached at the college at 805-943-3241, ext. 206.
