Trust Company Promotions: Executives at First American Trust Co. moved up a notch recently as Charles Potter, president of the Santa Ana company, took on the newly created position of chairman of the board. For Potter, 67, the new post will involve less work as he eases into retirement. Taking his place as president is Thomas Casey, the company’s senior vice president who has been in charge of investments. In a bit of restructuring, four executives were promoted to senior vice president posts from their positions as vice presidents. They and their duties are: David Rahn, investments; G. Andrew Bailard, marketing and sales; Horace B. Benjamin, pension and profit-sharing trusts; and Donald R. Dooling, trust administration. The company also promoted Leslie Biekkola to vice president for operations from her post of operations manager and Lydia Rojas to vice president for administration from her job as assistant vice president. The trust company is a wholly owned subsidiary of First American Financial Corp., which also owns the nation’s second-largest title insurer, First American Title Insurance Co.
