Little League officials said they don’t have enough information to file a formal protest regarding allegations that the team from the Philippines used older players when it won the championship last month at Williamsport, Pa.
However, a district administrator said the investigation will continue.
The Philippine Daily Inquirer and several other newspapers last week raised allegations that some Filipino players are older than the limit of 12 years.
The reports quoted sources as saying birth certificates and other papers were faked to allow older players to compete.
Long Beach won the U.S. title, but lost to the Philippines, 15-4, in the World Series title game on Aug. 29.
