Spiegel to Move Out of Chicago: Spiegel Inc. is moving its distribution facility and about 2,000 jobs out of Chicago, rebuffing efforts by city officials to keep the famous mail-order retailer in town. Union officials say the company is moving to avoid union labor. A Spiegel official says one of the main concerns was the viability of the current site, which includes some buildings constructed nearly a century ago. The suburban Downers Grove-based retailer said it intends to make a final decision on a new site this month.
