A Cal State Northridge engineering program for minority students will receive a $20,000 grant from UC Berkeley, CSUN administrators said Thursday.
The grant will be used to supplement CSUN’s Minority Engineering Program, which serves more than 400 engineering and computer science students. The program, which provides counseling, tutoring and freshman orientation programs, costs about $65,000 a year, campus officials said.
The program, on average, graduates 50% to 60% of the students who participate, said Roger Di Julio, a faculty sponsor.
