COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Anteater Women Beat Gonzaga in Soccer

Shawna Berke, a sophomore from El Toro High, scored two goals to help UC Irvine defeat Gonzaga, 5-0, in a women’s soccer match Thursday in Spokane, Wash.

Kerry McGrath, Carmen Morell and Kim Kaitanjian also scored for the Anteaters (1-2-1).

In other nonconference women’s soccer:

Claremont 1, Chapman 0--Sarah Draper scored with 22 minutes remaining in the second half for visiting Claremont (1-0). Goalie Tessa Christenson had six saves for Chapman (1-1).

In nonconference men’s soccer:

Hawaii Pacific 4, Southern California College 3--Carlos Miramontes scored two first half goals for host SCC (2-1). Ken Mau scored two goals for Hawaii Pacific (3-0).
