L.A. Gear Files Suit Against Michael Jackson: L.A. Gear Inc. said it filed a lawsuit against the entertainer and others. The lawsuit alleges fraud and breach of contract, among other charges. The claims arose in connection with contracts between L.A. Gear and the defendants that granted the company the exclusive right to use Jackson’s name and likeness to promote and sell shoes and apparel, including the right to market a Michael Jackson athletic shoe line. L.A. Gear seeks to rescind the contracts and restitution of the costs and expenses, plus damages.
