8 Hurt in Cannery Blasts

HOOPESTON, Ill. — Explosions ripped through a cannery Friday, injuring eight people and igniting a fire that destroyed much of the plant, company officials said. An initial explosion shortly before 10 a.m. at the Stokely USA facility was followed by more explosions that sent flames throughout the building.
