Fielding Rushes for 145 Yards; Mission Viejo Wins

MISSION VIEJO — Senior tailback Erick Fielding rushed for 145 yards in 14 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead Mission Viejo to a 42-7 victory over West Torrance Friday night at Mission Viejo Stadium.
Mission Viejo built a 28-0 lead at the half as Fielding and fullback Adrian Amposta each ran for two touchdowns.
Fielding scored on a 17-yard run in the first series, capping a 53-yard, six-play drive.
After an interception by Dave Loya, Amposta ran 19 yards for a touchdown to make the score 14-0.
Early in the second quarter, Fielding scored on a 39-yard run to make the score 21-0. The drive was keyed by a 51-yard gain on a keeper by quarterback Brad Weekes. Amposta capped the first-half scoring on a 25-yard touchdown run after an interception by Darren Darensbourg.
Fielding returned the second-half kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown, giving Mission Viejo a 35-0 lead.
