Puente Hills : Landfill Hearing Planned
A fourth public hearing on the controversial proposal to expand the use of the Puente Hills Landfill is scheduled for Monday.
The Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County operate the dump, which is one of the biggest in the United States, and want to add 75 million tons of trash to the 1,365-acre site during the next 20 years. In addition, they want to build a separating and recycling facility that would process 4,000 tons of waste daily.
The meeting will be from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Los Altos High School gym, 15325 E. Los Robles Ave., Hacienda Heights.
