Manufacturers Expect Little Growth: Manufacturers expect little improvement in their industry despite reports that conditions have improved the last few months, according to a Dun & Bradstreet Corp. survey in August. The industry sentiment index, reflecting 1,000 manufacturers’ expectations for three months, remained unchanged at 18 after a slight increase in July. The index combines individual indexes measuring manufacturers’ opinions on production, new orders, unfilled orders, inventory levels and exports.
