SAN DIEGO : Officer Injured by Wayward Car

An El Cajon traffic patrol officer was seriously injured when a towed car swung out of control, knocked him to the ground, and dragged him several feet.
Officer Ron Blair was struck while directing traffic on the Johnson Avenue overpass of Interstate 8 about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, said Sgt Larry Wood. Blair suffered skull fractures, a broken collarbone and broken jaw, Wood said.
He was taken to a nearby hospital and was listed in good condition late Saturday after undergoing surgery.
