COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Big Second Half Paces Titans in Soccer

Cal State Fullerton scored four goals in the second half and beat Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 5-1, in a nonconference men’s soccer match Sunday at Fullerton.
Matt Bradbury scored twice in the second half, and Mark Vaught, and Paul McDonnell also scored for Fullerton (6-2). Ricky Rodriguez scored in the first half for the Titans.
In the Las Vegas men’s soccer tournament:
California 3, UC Irvine 1--Trung Do scored in the first half for Irvine (3-4), but Cal’s Carlton Solle and Steve Coppedge scored in the second half.
In nonconference water polo:
USC 6, UC Irvine 5--USC, the third-ranked team in the nation, broke a 3-3 tie with three goals in the third quarter and hung on at Heritage Park. Irvine’s Pablo Yrizar scored his fourth and final goal with 2:43 left in the fourth quarter, but Irvine got no closer. It was the second time this season USC (6-1) had beaten sixth-ranked Irvine (2-5) by a goal.
