PREP ROUNDUP : Los Alamitos Wins in Girls’ Tennis

Los Alamitos, the top-ranked girls’ tennis team in the Southern Section Division III, defeated Fountain Valley, 12-6, in a nonleague match Monday at Fountain Valley High School.

Michelle Schneider and Alison Miller swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-2, for Los Alamitos (8-1).

In other nonleague matches:

El Modena 12, Katella 6--Freshman Amy Medlin swept at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-1, 6-0, for visiting El Modena (3-3).

Valencia 14, La Quinta 4--Renee Williams swept at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for host Valencia (2-6).

Western 15, Bolsa Grande 3--Christine Collins and Erin Maroney swept at No. 3 doubles, 6-3, 6-0, 6-0, for visiting Western (7-1).

In nonleague water polo:

Canyon 19, Laguna Hills 7--Michael Kerr scored nine goals for host Canyon (7-6).

El Modena 25, Loara 1--Griffin Mayes scored six goals for visiting El Modena (8-2).

Laguna Beach 11, Santa Margarita 9--Jeremy Rothbard scored six goals for host Laguna Beach (6-4).
