Robert Duran, at 41, scored two knockdowns to win by unanimous decision in a 10-round super-middleweight bout against Tony Biglen at Buffalo.
Biglen, 31, a journeyman electrician, was knocked down in the first round with a right hand and in the fourth round with a short left hook to the jaw.
During the fourth round, while Duran had Biglen pinned in Biglen’s corner, Duran struck his head through the ropes and shook his head “No” to Biglen’s father-trainer, who was shouting instructions to his son.
Judges Andy Heymann, Donald Nodecker and Joe Ware each scored it 100-86 for Duran in the fight before 2,500 at 18,000-seat Memorial Auditorium.
Duran--who had a leisurely lunch of spaghetti, chicken, potatoes and a small steak--had an official weight of 166 1/2 pounds, 1 1/2 under the limit, for the bout.
