Intel Corp. to Expand Chip Plant: The world’s leading independent computer chip vendor is expected to announce today that it will expand its production facilities in Santa Clara, Calif, creating at least 200 jobs. Gov. Pete Wilson is scheduled to appear with Intel officials to outline the expansion, which is occurring at a time when California is losing thousands of manufacturing jobs. State officials in recent months have stepped up efforts to attract and retain jobs amid the recession and growing complaints about California’s business climate.
