LOS ANGELES : Panel Puts Off Discussion on CRA Fund Transfer
- Share via
A City Council panel delayed discussion Monday on the impact that the transfer of $10.9 million from the Community Redevelopment Agency to the city’s coffers will have on CRA projects.
Only Richard Alatorre, chairman of the council’s three-member community redevelopment and housing subcommittee, was present for the meeting. Council members Zev Yaroslavsky and Michael Woo were absent.
The $10.9 million will be used for the expansion of the Convention Center. By using CRA funds instead of money from the city’s general fund, the council was able to spend a similar amount on police and fire services, which had faced substantial cuts, city officials said.
