Diamond Bar : New Community Center

Construction will begin within a month on a community building the city hopes to complete by next spring.
By a 4-0 vote Tuesday, the City Council awarded Clayton Engineering a $657,400 contract to construct the building in Heritage Park in south Diamond Bar.
The center will be used for senior citizen activities, community club meetings, a Tiny Tots enrichment program and city recreation programs. It will consist of a meeting room, classroom, kitchen, office and lobby.
The money to build the 3,942-square-foot structure comes from a $40,000 state park grant, $340,900 from the Community Development Block Grant and $300,000 from the General Fund.
