New Cal State Northridge President Blenda J. Wilson said Thursday she will reorganize the school’s top administration by creating the job of provost, who will be second in command and in charge of the school’s academic programs.
The provost also will be vice president for academic affairs and will oversee the remaining two vice presidents on campus, Wilson said through a spokeswoman. CSUN’s three vice presidents now are equals under the campus president.
Biologist Donald Bianchi is acting vice president for academic affairs.
A campus committee is expected to select the provost by the end of the school year, campus officials said.
