VALLEYWIDE : Beilenson to Debate McClintock Today

Rep. Anthony C. Beilenson (D-Los Angeles) and Republican Assemblyman Tom McClintock of Thousand Oaks are scheduled to meet in an hourlong debate this morning on KGIL-AM radio.
The debate, to be held from 8 to 9 a.m. before a studio audience, will be broadcast live from a Sherman Oaks hotel.
Beilenson and McClintock are competing in the newly created 24th Congressional District, which stretches from Sherman Oaks to Malibu and north to Thousand Oaks.
The race between Beilenson, a veteran liberal, and McClintock, an anti-tax conservative, is expected to draw national attention because of the sharp ideological differences between the candidates.
