Pyramid Anglers Are Flush With Excitement

Sometimes man can influence how fish bite, especially at man-made lakes such as Pyramid along the California Aqueduct in northern Los Angeles County.
“They gave us some clear water at the beginning of last week,” Vicki Ybarra reported from the lake. “Before then, the level was real low and the fishing was spotty. Since then it’s been (striped bass) boils all over.”
And when Pyramid received a heavy trout plant Tuesday morning, “The channel sure lit up,” Ybarra said. “It’s going to be a good evening.”
Recent surveys at Pyramid also indicated an excellent spawn for largemouth bass and crappie.
