Santa Monica Group to Offer ‘Mirabell Jam’

The Santa Monica Symphony, conducted by its music director, Allen Robert Gross, will open its 1992-93 season in Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, Nov. 1, with a program offering the world premiere of Roger Bourland’s “Mirabell Jam.” Bourland is the UCLA faculty member whose “Hidden Legacies” cantata, new last spring, is being performed widely this season.
On the same program, Scott Dunn will be the soloist in Beethoven’s B-flat Piano Concerto; the concert ends with Brahms’ First Symphony.
This free performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Civic Auditorium, Main Street at Pico Boulevard, Santa Monica.
