A man who shot himself in the head after abducting and killing his infant daughter died Thursday at UCLA Medical Center, officials said.
Paul Force, 30, died early Thursday, said hospital spokesman David Robertson. The body of Amanda, Force’s 1-month-old daughter, was found Wednesday afternoon next to the out-of-work actor near the waterline on Will Rogers State Beach, in the 16000 block of West Pacific Coast Highway.
Los Angeles Police Lt. Al Moen said investigators found an automatic handgun, which was missing one round, next to Force.
There were reports that Amanda had been drowned, but detectives believe she may have been suffocated, Moen said.
Force, who did not have any custody rights regarding Amanda, was believed to be despondent over the mother’s refusal to marry him, police said.
