Harry Williamson, 80, a double agent credited with feeding devastating misinformation to the Nazis during World War II. Born Wulf Schmidt in the German-occupied part of Denmark, he parachuted into Britain as a spy for the Nazis in 1940. But he was soon caught and persuaded to work for the British. His key deception was helping to convince the Germans that the 1944 D-Day invasion would be in northern France, when it was actually planned for Normandy, 160 miles to the south. Remaining in England after the war, he worked as a newspaper photographer and export manager. On Monday in London of cancer.
