James Bouler, who made headlines after receiving gambling winnings from NBA star Michael Jordan, was acquitted on drug charges in Charlotte, N.C., Friday. But a federal jury convicted Bouler of trying to hide tainted money.
As a result of the conviction, Bouler lost $57,000 he had received from Jordan allegedly as payment of a gambling debt.
Jurors deliberated more than four hours before finding that Bouler laundered money for drug dealer James Edward (Ned) Johnson and conspired to launder money for Johnson’s suspected partner, the late Herman Givens.
