HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Big 2nd Quarter Gives Village Christian Win

Unbeaten Village Christian spotted Western Christian a 10-point lead before scoring 28 points in the second quarter en route to a 34-17 win in an Alpha League game Saturday night at Kennedy High.
Eric Martin led the Village Christian defense with three interceptions, including a 48-yard return for a touchdown.
Tarik Blair of Village Christian carried 19 times for 142 yards and two touchdowns, including a 58-yard score in the fourth quarter. Village Christian (7-0, 2-0 in league play) amassed 208 yards rushing. Western Christian is 2-5, 0-1. Village Christian’s Tristan Grell returned a kickoff 65 yards and had an interception.
