Jana Novotna of Czechoslovakia upset second-seeded Mary Joe Fernandez, 6-3, 6-4, in the semifinals of the Brighton Indoors tournament and will play top-seeded Steffi Graf of Germany today for the title at Brighton, England.

Graf reached the final for the sixth time in seven years when she defeated Anke Huber, also of Germany, 7-5, 6-2.
