COSTA MESA : State Language Panel Names Scarfone VP

Orange Coast College Prof. Patricia Scarfone has been named vice president of the newly created California Community College Foreign Language Council.
A native of Italy, the Spanish and Italian instructor joined OCC’s staff in 1986.
She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Hunter College in New York City and has taught at many Southern California colleges.
The council, which includes community college foreign language instructors from around the state, recently held its first conference in Irvine.
The organization plans to promote foreign language curricula and classes on California’s 107 community college campuses.
