1 Dies, 4 Hurt in Explosion at Harlem Housing Project

NEW YORK — An explosion Monday devastated the top three floors of a public housing project in Harlem, killing at least one person and injuring four, authorities said. Witnesses said the top floors of the building, which houses mainly elderly people, looked like they had been hit by a missile, with the walls blown out and only the steel girders still in place. The cause of the blast was not immediately known.
