Third baseman-catcher Andy Dominique of Alemany High has become the second player from the region to verbally commit to play baseball next season at Nevada.
Dominique, who slugged six homers as a sophomore, will join left-handed pitcher Chris Garza of Notre Dame, who also has committed to Nevada.
Dominique, who was offered a full scholarship, expects to sign a letter of intent Wednesday, the first day of the NCAA’s weeklong early signing period.
Dominique batted .393 with nine doubles, two homers and 18 runs batted in as a junior last spring. He hit .323 with six homers and 23 RBIs as a sophomore.
