For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions from the California Assn. of Nurserymen on what to do in the garden this week:

* Give the garden one good general feeding this month and you’ll be rewarded next spring with new growth.

* Plant daffodils every three weeks to assure continual bloom through the spring.

* Check stakes on trees and roses. Replace weak ones so trees will be protected from winter storm damage.
