SOUTHLAND ROUNDUP : Cheatham Leads Redlands to Title

Sean Cheatham rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns Saturday night as Redlands clinched a third consecutive outright SCIAC championship with a 35-6 victory over Occidental at Redlands. The Bulldogs (8-1, 6-0) expect to advance to the Division III national playoffs. The Tigers are 5-4, 3-3.

Also Saturday, Willie Reyna completed 17 of 23 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns to lead La Verne (7-1-1, 5-1) to a 28-6 SCIAC victory at Claremont-Mudd (0-9, 0-6), finishing his career with 4,712 yards. . . . George Marquecho had 194 yards and two touchdowns in Whittier’s 33-30 victory over Cal Lutheran (3-6, 2-4).
