May Department Stores Co. named Maxine Clark president of its Payless Shoesource unit, effective next month.
Clark, an executive vice president for Venture Stores Inc., has been with May for 20 years. She will succeed Larry Mickley, who is retiring.
St. Louis-based May is the largest department store retailer in the nation.
