Crescenta Valley 25, Marina 9--Running back Erik LaCom rushed 19 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns to lead Crescenta Valley at Glendale High.
The Falcons, who play Hart next week, took advantage of three Marina miscues to score touchdowns.
LaCom ran 14 yards for a first-quarter score after a 13-yard Marina punt. He scored again on a one-yard run with 1:45 left in the fourth quarter after Paul Lopez intercepted a Travis Davis pass. The Falcons (10-1) then took a 15-3 lead in the second quarter when Jon Berg returned a fumble eight yards.
Marina quarterback Davis, who threw only one interception all season, threw three.
Marina (6-4-1) and running back John Marvos started quickly. Marvos (17 carries for 175 yards) ran for 87 yards in the opening drive but Marina had to settle for a 27-yard field goal.
Marvos later scored on a nine-yard run as time expired in the fourth quarter.
