NEC to Repurchase Stock: National Education Corp. said Monday that it has been authorized to repurchase as much as $5 million worth of its common stock.
The educational services company, based in Irvine, said that its board of directors approved the purchases, which will be made occasionally on the open market. The company had 30.3 million shares outstanding as of Sept. 30.
In Monday’s trading on the New York Stock Exchange, the stock fell 12.5 cents a share to close at $5.25.
