EASY TOKYO: It may get easier to fly to Los Angeles from here beginning Feb. 12. Mesa Airlines wants to join the list of commuter connections between LAX and John Wayne Airport, if it can get final approval. Its eight daily round-trip, 19-passenger flights will be aimed at United Airlines’ schedules. . . . “You can check your bags at John Wayne and fly them all the way to Tokyo,” says Mesa spokesman Gus Carbonell. “That has to appeal to people tired of fighting traffic at LAX.”
