The chief operating officer of a nonprofit health care network in Texas has been appointed the new administrator of the 341-bed Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center in Lancaster.
Robert J. Harenski, 46, of Austin is expected to assume the new job in January.
Since June, 1988, Harenski has headed the Daughters of Charity Health Services, which runs the 505-bed Seton Medical Center, the 82-bed Seton Northwest Hospital and related facilities. The organization has a $238-million budget and 2,700 employees.
Harenski was named to a two-year contract Friday by a 3-0 vote of the public hospital’s governing board. His salary was not disclosed.
Harenski will replace David B. Coats, an executive of a hospital consulting firm who has served as the Lancaster facility’s administrator since January.
