PALMDALE : Council Moves Up Comment Period
- Share via
The Palmdale City Council has decided to make its meetings more user friendly by moving the public comments segment from the end of the sessions to the beginning. The meetings also will start at 7 p.m., instead of 7:30.
The council’s regular meetings are held once a month, and typically have lengthy agendas that delay the public testimony on non-agenda issues to as late as midnight.
“I can’t think of anything more important than hearing from the public and showing them they are important by putting them as the first item on the agenda,” Councilman David Myers said.
The council agreed to adopt the new procedures Thursday and is expected to formally approve an ordinance establishing the changes at special council meeting Dec. 17.
