THIS ONE HOLDS WATER: It takes about five swimming pools a day just to water the landscaping at the South Coast Plaza complex. Now that’s how much drinking water is saved. . . . After 20 years in the planning, Mesa Consolidated and the county water districts can use reclaimed water that once came from your bathtub to water greenbelt areas. South Coast Plaza has become the first in the county to use the reclaimed water in the districts’ “Green Acres Project.”
