Man Ordered to Stop Harassing Conway Twitty

GALLATIN, Tenn. — A Florida man who says Conway Twitty is his father has been ordered to stop harassing the country singer.
A temporary restraining order bars Thomas James Fry of Jensen Beach, Fla., from contacting Twitty or members of his family.
Rose Palermo, Twitty’s attorney, said the singer has offered to take a blood test to disprove Fry’s claims. “He just won’t accept it and believe it,” she said.
Fry, believed to be 24, claims Twitty met his mother and fathered him during a drunken tryst. He has left numerous phone messages and notes at the singer’s home and office since 1987, and the complaint said Fry followed Twitty around on a one-week cruise in December, 1989.
Twitty, 58, is known for such hits as “It’s Only Make Believe,” “Hello Darlin’ ” and “She’s Got a Single Thing in Mind.”
